Q&A
Up Close and Personal with Pauline Edward: Answers
to questions I am frequently asked:
How
did you become interested in astrology?
Whenever
asked, how did I get into astrology in the first
place, I answer, Astrology found me. Evidently,
it was my destiny. I was first introduced to the
subject through the works of Edgar Cayce, and
then, at the age of 14, while on a visit with
my aunt in Quebec City, I had my first chart cast.
It was love at first site! The thought that it
was possible to look into the future
wow!
I was immediately hooked! My passion was, and
remains to this day, personal growth, healing
and development. Astrology was the key for unlocking
the personal potential that lies deep within each
individual, and the roadmap for planning the exciting
journey of self-discovery.
When
I returned home from my visit with my astrologer
aunt, I purchased my first astrology textbook,
and began to draw up the charts of all the people
I knew. Of course, to my deep chagrin, I soon
learned that astrology was not an easy craft to
master. Many years of life experience, self exploration,
and healing would pass before I could begin to
fathom the psyche of another human being. Despite
my fair share of personal challenges, given my
steadfastness and undying curiosity, I persisted.
In 1984, I saw my first paying client.
Over
35 years, and thousands of charts later, I continue
to marvel at the wonders of our limitless Universe,
opened as a book for us to read through the lenses
of astrology and numerology. The biggest lesson
acquired during my apprenticeship to life is that
we have the power to create our future, that it
is not something to be predicted with unflinching
accuracy. We can predict an upcoming trend and
possible difficulties or opportunities, but at
any given moment, the important thing to remember
is that we always remain free to choose how we
will act.
In
1997, I founded A Time for Success, which rapidly
grew as a consulting practice, as demonstrated
by its West Island of Montreal Chamber of Commerce
Accolades 2003 award, which recognizes excellence
in the business community. I maintain a practice
in the Montreal West Island area, serving a broad
clientele across Canada, the US and Europe. My
approach is a fusion of resources from astrology,
psychology, spirituality, business and coaching.
How
many books have you written?
Actually,
5: The Power of Time, pub. Llewellyn, released
Nov 2007, Astrological Crosses in Relationships,
pub. Llewellyn, 2002, L'Hermes, coauthored
with Marc Beriault and Axel Harvey, pub. Bxx Editeur,
The Healer, an unpublished novel, and my
most recent book, nearly finished.
What
do I do when I'm not seeing clients or writing?
It's
true that I do spend a lot of time working;
it's
one of the side effects of doing what you love.
However, I do enjoy dance, my favourites are the
triple swing and the cha cha, but an elegant fox
trot is also very enjoyable. I'm hoping to one
day find a new dance partner!
Other
activities I enjoy include renovating my home,
that's what happens with a fifty year old house!
I've just finished renovating a meeting room in
the basement. I also enjoy gardening--I love flowers--and
photography.
Family
plays an important role in my life and once a
month we all get together for a family dinner.
I am actually putting together a cookbook... I
know, sounds like work... but we get to test all
the recipes! The website for this project is:
www.familyfriendsandfood.com.
Family, Friends and Food is still in its early
stages, but you can find some pretty cool recipes.
Since I enjoy a good challenge, I like to take
great tasting, but not-so-healthy recipes and
turn them into something healthy. Check it out.
Oh, and don't forget the blog!
